Cathay is a classic smooth yarns from Debbie Bliss' yarn collection. It is beautifully soft to knit with and the resulting garment has a lovely drape that compliments any figure. The blend is 50% cotton, 35% viscose microfibre and 15% silk. Cathay knits on a 3.75mm needle with a tension of 22sts x 30 rows. A generous 100m per 50g.

The new collection uses the natural drape of Cathay in fourteen designs that include a softly flared jacket, a simple wrap-over and asymmetric tops. Inspired by Chinese silks, Debbie Bliss has chosen a mainly bright palette for the twelve shades in the Cathay range, with the silk bringing an intensity to vivid purples, scarlet and gold, while including, as always her favourite duck egg blue and old rose.
