About Us Stash Fine Yarns is one of the largest independant yarn stores in the UK carrying more lines and stock than any John Lewis or Hobby Craft store! Unlike many online stores we always have experienced knitters on hand to help you with your order or to assist you with project should you encounter difficulties. We have a large shop in Chester UK which is open Monday - Friday 10.00 - 16.00.

How To Find Us
We are about a mile and a half from the centre of Chester. If you are coming by train you will have to go into the centre of Chester to the bus exchange, which is behind the Town Hall. You can get the number 10 bus from the bus exchange, and get off at Rybrooks, the Jaguar/Volvo garage, this is the stop before the Sealand Road Park & Ride car park if the bus driver is unsure. At the traffic lights turn left into Sovereign Way, then turn down the third road on the right, this is Minerva Avenue. At the T junction turn right and walk through the barrier for Evans Easy Space Business Centre, then turn immediately left. Then turn right and we are down at the end of the row of units - Number 48 - there are signs outside. It is only a 5/10 minute walk from the bus stop. It sounds further but the roads are all short. Making A Purchase Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.

We accept payment by most major Credit Cards, UK Debit Cards & PayPal.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, UK Debit Cards & PayPal. You may send your credit card information via phone or by email.

When you receive confirmation of an order from us it is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an email to notify you that your order has been processed and despatched. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable. We reserve the right to refuse an order if we are advised by our payment processers that a tranaction may be 'high risk' or possibly fraudulent.

Stash Fine Yarns' online store attempts to be as accurate as possible. However we do not warrant that product descriptions or other content of this site are accurate, complete, reliable, current or error-free. If a product offered by us itself is not as described your sole remedy is to return it in an unused condition.

Stash Fine Yarns uses the Pantone Huey Colour Management System in the production of all of it's copyrighted images to ensure accurate rendition on colour. Please note that although our screens have been colour corrected yours is probably not which will lead to differences in colour rendition. This fact must be allowed for when considering your purchase.

Health and Safety:- In accordance with the Health and Safety at Work, etc. Act 1974 and the Consumer Protection Act 1987. Stash Fine Yarns confirms that the goods it supplies as a distributor do not present a hazard to Health and Safety, (a) when properly used for the purpose for which they are designed and (b) if the customer takes reasonable and normal precautions in their use.

Shipping And Handling Shipping charges are based on the weight and destination of the order and are displayed at the checkout stage once a shipping destination is entered. Whilst we do try our best to maintain an accurate pricing, we do occasionally make mistakes and will seek to rectify any errors as soon as possible. Please note that postage charges are subject to VAT (if payable) at the standard rate of 20% This tax is imposed by Her Majesty's Customs and Excise as posting items to you is considered to be a service and is therefore subject to VAT.
Please note that VAT is not charged on books and some single patterns.

Delivery Schedule We aim to process and deliver your order right away. Normally orders received before 3.15pm (Monday - Friday, excepting Bank Holidays) will be processed and dispatched the same day. This includes UK 'Special Next Day' deliveries. At extremely busy times, i.e. after public holidays we will despatch your order to you within 2 working days after payment has been cleared.

In the extremely rare event of an order being lost/delayed in the post we will resend/refund after the following time period:-
UK orders: 15 working days after the expected delivery date.
Overseas orders: 25 working days from the date of posting. This is the minimum time needed to complete the full international delivery process and includes the time taken for items to return to the UK in the event of non-delivery abroad.
Russian Federation: Please note that orders to the Russian Federation can take as long as 10 weeks to be delivered and we will not issue a refund/resend the order until this period of time has elapsed

These time scales are those dictated by Royal Mail (our preferred delivery agent) in their 'Mail Claims' criteria and give reasonable time to allow delayed items to be delivered prior to a loss situation being declared.
We abide by this statement to avoid orders being received by the customer twice and then having to be returned, resulting in compensation claims against us for out of pocket postal charges by the customer. UK standard 1st class mail is not trackable, unlike the more secure 'Special Next Day Delivery' options offered in the checkout cart.

If you require a more secure/guaranteed UK service please select 'Special Next Day Delivery' in the checkout cart which will guarantee delivery before 1pm the following working day.

We use Airmail Small Packet for all our overseas deliveries which once again is not trackable. 'Airsure'/'International Signed For' can be arranged for an additional charge. Please contact us for further details if you require this service.

Back Orders On the rare occasion that your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will usually be telephoned/emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.

Tax Charges Products in the catalogue are quoted inclusive of UK VAT if applicable. Customers purchasing from the UK or the EU will be charged VAT at 20%. VAT is deducted at the cart stage of the purchase for customers outside of the UK & EU once their country of origin is entered.

Credit Card Security Orders placed on our website are procesed by HSBC Global Payments Online Services who act on our behalf. We do not have access to your card details.

Guarantee All of our products come with a 14 day guarantee. If you're not 100% happy with your order just return it to us for a full refund.

Returns Policy You have the right to cancel an order within seven days of purchase or within seven days of receipt of the goods (whichever is the longer). Should you wish to cancel your purchase within seven days, please contact us. Providing that unwanted goods are received back to us in unused, unopened and resaleable condition within seven days of delivery, we will refund payment for the goods. Orders placed by credit or debit card from this web site will usually be refunded directly to your credit or debit card. Orders placed by other means will be refunded by cheque. Refunds will be made within 14 days of return of the goods being received. We cannot accept liability for returned goods lost or damaged during transit. You are advised to wrap the product carefully to avoid damage. You are also advised to return goods by recorded delivery, or by courier. Proof of postage will not be accepted as proof of delivery. Please remember to give us your name and address, and a copy of your purchase receipt. The cost of returning goods will be borne by you unless the goods are faulty/wrongly delivered. Returned goods will be credited back to you. If you wish to exchange goods please re-order them online.
